Have you ever picked up a book or bought an eBook that was not your normal genre? Maybe a story about a topic that was different than the rest of the books you have on the shelf? Try it once and see what you think. Challenge yourself to try a new genre, or a new author.
I did once. I did it because of two of the authors in the anthology, Nikka Michaels and Eileen Griffin. I have known these two ladies before they officially started writing books. They have come on the literary scene with a bang! The stories they write are amazingly hot and fun to read and they just keep writing and writing. I am not complaining. I am enjoying their work.
So they were a part of the anthology called Alpha’s Claim:Manlove Edition by Evernight Publishing. This book has ten stories in it and I can honestly say after reading their two stories I tried a few others and didn’t like them as well, but honestly, this isn’t my genre. It has nothing to do with the authors or stories, I do not read books like this often. Well, I never have. But because of these two ladies, I read their stories and did enjoy them. I was very proud of myself for trying something new and different. Not my norm. But I am glad I did.

The shifters in our Alpha’s Claim anthology have one thing in common—they won’t take “no” for an answer. Whether they lead packs of their own, or whether they walk a solitary path, these alphas won’t let anyone stop them from claiming their women.
Lose yourself in these ten sinfully delicious love stories. After all, who could deny an Alpha’s claim?
Here is my review done in June 2014:
I do not normally read stories about wolves but I did knowing that I love Nikka Michaels and Eileen Griffin’s work. Both stories were very good, though not my normal type of read. I did enjoy them and found my self scared at times wondering if the main characters would find their love and have a happy ending. I couldn’t put the stories down, I had to finish the stories because I couldn’t wait to see how they both ended.I am glad to read these and tried something out of my normal comfort zone. Like I said, I love Nikka and Eileen so I’d read just about anything they wrote. |
So challenge yourself to try a new author, genre or book you would not normally pick up. You might be pleasantly surprised or meet a new favorite author.
**If you are interested in finding more stories from Eileen or Nikka, click on their names above and you will go to their author pages on Amazon to see what other books they have written. The ladies are working on a new series that has definitely turned up the heat in the kitchen for me! Click on the book below. You won’t want to miss this new series.
I hardly ever do that.

I’ll read almost anything, though I definitely have preferred genres. It’s fun to go outside of the “box” every once in a while, though I find myself coming back to old favorites.
