This was a book I would look at on the shelves at Target each time I went to the store. I kept telling myself I would read it when I had more time. Then then the second book in the series came out, The Dominant, and then I really wanted to read the books. So I bought them and treated myself to the series since by the time I bought them all three books were available. So glad I did since I could not put them down. Here is the information on the first one:
The first in Tara Sue Me’s seductive and scandalous series that has enthralled millions…
Abby King has a secret fantasy.
New York knows Nathaniel West as the brilliant and handsome CEO of West Industries, but Abby knows he’s more: a sexy and skilled dominant who is looking for a new submissive. Yearning to experience a world of pleasure beyond her simple life as a librarian, Abby offers herself to Nathaniel, to fulfill her most hidden desires.
After only one weekend with the Master, Abby knows she needs more, and fully submits to Nathaniel’s terms. But despite the pleasure he takes in Abby’s willing spirit, the Nathaniel hidden behind the rules remains cold and distant.
As Abby falls deeper into his tantalizing world of power and passion, she fears that Nathaniel’s heart may be beyond her reach—and that her own might be beyond saving…

My Review:
I have wanted to read this series for a while and finally, after reading some reviews from trusted sources, decided to read it. What was I waiting for? Wow! First book that ever made me cry too. Emotionally cry.Abigail wants to be a submissive. She goes to meet Nathaniel West, a dominant. They have a trial weekend. He acts like a true dom and actually comes across as an ass but for good reason. I had so many questions as I started reading that were eventually answered. Keep reading. The silence between them frustrated me. I could never be so quiet and not ask questions or try to communicate. But Abigail does very well. A quick learner. Nathaniel looks after her needs as a good dom should, takes care of her and treats her with respect. He even gives her the opportunity to use her safe word if she needs to when he sees her hesitate to do what he asked her to do, knowing that she is uncomfortable, scared and full of fear. But she learns to trust him and he takes that trust very seriously. I love that Nathaniel’s family meets and likes her. Everything seems normal or as normal can be.One action brought me to tears and I can honestly say I’ve never cried because of a book before. You can see that the two are developing feelings for one another but having a hard time with it individually, themselves. It will take a shock to the system for Nathaniel to do the right thing. And Abigail will hold the shock paddles herself. I love that she stands her ground even in a submissive role.
I am currently reading The Dominant, part two in the trilogy and so many questions are being answered. The Dominant is from Nathaniel’s point of view and it has filled in the blanks on many things. Read this series. Awesome books. |
