My Review of Masquerade by S.N. Williams #NaBloPoMo

Introducing the new book Masquerade
by S.N. Williams

masquerade cover

Here is the summary from the book:

Have you ever felt like you were wearing a mask, like a masquerade mask you were at ball? I have worn one before at a ball where I felt my most comfortable in my own skin.
My name is Julia Falls. I felt like for some time now that I have been wearing a mask. I had a horrible accident and don’t remember what happened before it or even why I was in an accident. I have never felt like myself until I meet a guy I fall head over heels in love with. Chris is truly my soul mate but I still feel like things are still being hidden from me. Things get worse when my nightmares return of the death of my parents and my accident. Also dealing with raising my little sister is another stress to add to my life.
Will I ever shed the mask? Will Chris and I last through all the turmoil of lies reaching the surface? Time will only tell. Continue reading “My Review of Masquerade by S.N. Williams #NaBloPoMo”

So far…#NaNoWriMo has been good, but it is only the 6th. #NaBloPoMo

I have some friends participating in the #NaNoWriMo this month.  One in particular finally got the kick in the butt needed to work on her own book.  One that I am VERY excited to be a part of to share in the process while she writes.  I love her excitement and enthusiasm.

She has started the book.  And with each chapter I get to know more and more about the characters and plot.  Not only is SHE getting excited about her characters but I AM TOO as the story develops.  Now I am not an author but I am a blogger participating in #NaBloPoMo this month.  So I guess together we are both writing, her more than I, but I get to share her passion for her story and be entertained by her characters.  I am excited to go through this month with her.  I am excited to see what happens to the characters.  I am excited to see her being excited about her book.  I am excited about her book.  I am excited for her!

Meet New Author J.R. Gray ~ Legally Bound (Bound #1)

Meet author J.R. Gray.  I came across J.R. on Twitter in a discussion with an author we both liked.  Over time, we got friendly and started following each other and getting to know one another.  I found out that J.R. was an author working on the first book in a series.  Having read some writing samples I knew what I was looking forward t,o but never expected the awesome book that was published on March 24, 2014.  I couldn’t wait to read it and thoroughly enjoyed it.

2014 Halloween Candy for the Troops!

My hopes were to keep this blog all about books but this post I couldn’t pass up to re-blog and comment.

I don’t know about you but this year I have a TON of Halloween candy left over.   Was it because it was Friday?  Parties?  I can’t say why we had so few trick-or-treaters.  Why not do something good with it, instead of eating it.  Send it to our troops who are fighting for our freedom far away from home.  Make them smile.  Give them something sweet.  There are other ways to support with letters, cards, etc so read the post and see what you can do.  I myself am going to sort my candy and get it ready to send over.  I hope you do too!

Operation Gratitude Blog

Happy Halloween PicWe are really excited about Halloween! Are you getting ready for another great year of collecting and donating sweet treats to the troops?

Want to donate candy? To start you off, here are some important “Do’s and Don’ts”!

DO’s:

    Operation Gratitude
    17330 Victory Boulevard

DON’Ts

  • DON’T ship the candy to any other Operation Gratitude address than the Victory Boulevard address.

Get Uncomfortable – Try A New or Different Genre or Author

Have you ever picked up a book or bought an eBook that was not your normal genre?  Maybe a story about a topic that was different than the rest of the books you have on the shelf?  Try it once and see what you think.  Challenge yourself to try a new genre, or a new author.

I did once.  I did it because of two of the authors in the anthology, Nikka Michaels and Eileen Griffin.   I have known these two ladies before they officially started writing books.  They have come on the literary scene with a bang!  The stories they write are amazingly hot and fun to read and they just keep writing and writing.  I am not complaining.  I am enjoying their work.

So they were a part of the anthology called Alpha’s Claim:Manlove Edition by Evernight Publishing.  This book has ten stories in it and I can honestly say after reading their two stories I tried a few others and didn’t like them as well, but honestly, this isn’t my genre.  It has nothing to do with the authors or stories, I do not read books like this often.  Well, I never have. But because of these two ladies, I read their stories and did enjoy them.  I was very proud of myself for trying something new and different. Not my norm.  But I am glad I did.

alpha claimTitle: Alpha’s Claim: Manlove Edition

Authors: Tyler Robbins, Avril Ashton, Nikka Michaels, JC Holly, Lucy Felthouse, Karly Germain, Eileen Griffin, Tamsin Baker and Giselle Renarde

Publisher: Evernight Publishing

Genre: Paranormal/Shifter/M-M Romance

Anthology

4 Stars – Recommended Read

Synopsis:

The shifters in our Alpha’s Claim anthology have one thing in common—they won’t take “no” for an answer. Whether they lead packs of their own, or whether they walk a solitary path, these alphas won’t let anyone stop them from claiming their women. What challenges do November bring to you?

Some of my friends have entered the NaNoWriMo this month taking the challenge to write a 50,000-word novel and I, since I am not an author, took the bloggers challenge to blog every day called NaBloPoMo sponsored by BlogHer.   So I signed up.  Added my blog to the list and I have committed to blogging every day this month. I saw my blog name, #434 on the list.  Pretty cool! And now…I must write.  Each day.
