In this charged novella by the New York Times bestselling author of Call on Me, Nothing Between Us, and Not Until You two strangers take an asphalt-burning ride into the wildest night of their lives…
Natalie Bourne thinks she has the perfect night planned for her twenty-first birthday. But when her car breaks down and her boyfriend bails on her, she’s left stranded in an auto shop dealing with a way too cocky, way too hot mechanic, who seems to be intent on pushing every button she has.
The next time I need a tow truck, I want Monroe driving it. Natalie didn’t know how lucky she was that day. What a present!
This is a wonderfully written ebook about Natalie Bourne who just has nothing but bad luck on her side on what should be the best day of her life. Little does she know, her knight in shining armor pulls up in a tow truck. After some sarcastic banter back and forth between Natalie and Monroe, she agrees to let him help her but her luck continues to go down hill. Monroe agrees to give her a ride to the restaurant for her long awaited dinner date with her boyfriend, since he can’t fix her car that night. Thank goodness Monroe stays there to wait for her after she gets to the restaurant. That’s when his charm and good heart take over and give Natalie what she needs most. The best night of her life.
I love the dialogue between the characters. Monroe’s sarcastic wit makes you chuckle while reading the story. The two characters get along right from the start so the story becomes a refreshing read. I was a little surprised by the ending and loved the epilogue even more. It is refreshing to find characters who take chances in life and “just go for it” unsure of the outcome.
Roni Loren has long been a favorite author of mine. She writes with intensity and passion and her characters all become my favorites. Her Loving on the Edge series is one of my favorites and I get excited each time a new book in the series comes out.

Roni wrote her first romance novel at age fifteen when she discovered writing about boys was way easier than actually talking to them. Since then, her flirting skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her storytelling ability has. After earning a master’s degree in social work from LSU, she worked in a mental hospital, counseled birthmothers as an adoption coordinator, and did management recruiting in her PJs. But she always returned to writing.
Though she’ll forever be a New Orleans girl at heart, she now lives in Dallas with her husband and son. If she’s not working on her latest sexy story, you can find her reading, watching reality television, or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to rockstars concerts. She is theNew York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of The Loving on the Edge series.
