This is my first book by Tessa Bailey and I was very impressed. Loving BDSM, I chose this as my first. I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

Jonah and Caroline are the main characters. Caroline is a little more complex than Jonah. He knows who he is and what he desires, needs and wants. Well until she enters his club. Caroline is a prim and proper magazine owner and is more worried about her father and his old school desires instead of what she wants. The conflict in the story is Caroline deciding what she wants, needs and desires while trying to do the right thing. It takes her hitting rock bottom to figure it out.

It was heartbreaking to read Caroline’s struggle. I carried the two characters in my head while doing yard work. I couldn’t get them out and just wanted to go read more instead of working. The pace was pretty good keeping me wanting to know more and more. I was rooting for Jonah and appreciated his respect for Caroline in trying to do the right thing by her. Even when it hurt him.

I love the mix in the story as his daughter was introduced to the story. It showed a more human side to him but one where he needed a balance between work and family.

This will not be my last Tessa Bailey book. I look forward to more.

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days.

Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time.
