Sometimes love can change a person. Even the man with the darkest past.
This is book two in the series. You must read the first one as well as a short novella before, to truly understand the story line.
Emma, the sweet and innocent librarian has a past of her own. One that has molded who she is today but not as dark as Gavin’s. So they both have demons to slay before finding their castles.
We left off in book one hanging on a cliff with a shred of rope, no just kidding. It wasn’t THAT bad but I wanted to scream at Kendall for the way she ended the first book. So now we have our conclusions and the story just gets better. Not only are their dragons to slay there are huge dark forests to trudge through. These poor characters. Does love win out?
But in the end, Gavin finds his glass encrusted heart has warmed up to someone and the past hasn’t darkened his future. Thanks to Emma. The glass breaker. The sunshine. The princess in the castle. But the struggle to get there isn’t a pleasant one.
One major change in the story is Cooper. While Cooper did a good thing by forcing Emma on Gavin, he now struggles with the fall out and hopefully he lands on his feet without injury. His story is next I think.
Kendall writes steamy love stories with erotica mixed in so well. Each love scene is well designed and doesn’t fell like it is the same as last time. The passion and heat are new and sensual. You can almost feel like you are in the scene feeling the desire and lust between the two characters. Always a fan of Kendall’s erotic novels. She writes them so well. Desire. Passion. Heat. Love.
