Hands down, my favorite thing in the world is to score. Touchdowns.

Don’t let the fact that I’m the leading pick in the Most Valuable Playboy charity auction fool you. These days, I’m only a player on the field. I’ve kept my pants zipped all season long — and it has been long — because nothing’s more important than leading my team to victory every week. Except maybe escaping from the team owner’s recently-widowed and handsy-as-hell sister who’s dead set on winning more than a date with me.

Enter Violet and a well-placed Hail Mary.

She’s my best friend’s sister with a smile as sweet as cherry pie and a mind that runs quicker than the 40-yard-dash. After Violet saves the day with the highest bid, I don’t even give her a two-minute warning before I kiss her in front of the whole crowd and then announce that she’s my girlfriend. Which would be fine except my agent tells me we have to keep up the act while he’s negotiating my contract.
Violet takes one for the team and pretends to be mine, but our boyfriend-girlfriend scrimmage quickly turns into a full contact sport, and I want it to go into overtime. The problem is — I’ve been riding the bench for years.

How can a guy like me, who finally has a chance to prove his worth on the field, convince the girl she’s most valuable to his heart?

MOST VALUABLE PLAYBOY is a brand new standalone sports romance written in the guy’s POV!

My Review:

Lauren Blakely does one of the best jobs I’ve read at writing a male voice in her stories. She places the right amount of cockiness, stupidity and simpleness all in one and nails the male mind, and I mean that in a good way. Men do not think like women. Period. When you read the female voice it is definitely different, never a question of which character is speaking. This is one reason I love Lauren Blakely’s books. She rocks the male voice!

I loved the characters in this story. Cooper Armstrong is young and focused on football. He’s the starting quarterback and he wants to succeed. More than anything. He’s a good guy, a real one. He doesn’t mess around, he’s not a player and he takes his job seriously. He’s part of a team that depends on him and he needs them just as much. Their superstitions before the games are cute and funny to read about. Such big football players doing such laughable things before each game to ensure they continue to win.

Violet Pierson is the girl next door. Literally. She has known Cooper since he moved in when she was two year old. Her brother, Trent, is still best friends with Cooper. Their history is sweet and you can only root for them as the story progresses.

Violet comes to Cooper’s rescue at a very important event and well, one thing turns into another and the lies keep building. So they play along. While they are filing the roles their lies created, they start to realize they like what they are doing. Getting to know each other a little more intimatly, they walk that fine line of going forward or hurting one’s feelings. The love scenes were super HOT and very creative. Cooper was keeping up with his superstitions but yet able to make Violet happy. (Wink)

The story plays out in a very romantic way related to football and while I waited for the shoe to drop, it didn’t. I loved how the story progressed and ended. I loved how accurate the football aspect was written giving more validity to the story and author. A true feel good story that left me smiling with a happy heart. Lauren never disappoints and I can predict I will love each and every one of her stories. She’s just THAT kind of author. The kind that no matter what the book is about, you know you will love it.

Blurb

When it comes to women, sexy, well-built Kyle Coleman has always been a lover, not a fighter.  His one exception?  The sassy, tempting, smart-mouthed Ella Fisher.  Her family and his are sworn enemies, which make the two of them off-limits—despite the fact that she’s inspired some of his dirtiest, most erotic fantasies for years. But when the lines between animosity and lust become irrevocably blurred one fateful evening, their one night stand leads to a very unexpected consequence—that changes everything between them forever.

My Review:

Cute story by Carly Philips. Two characters share a past that shouldn’t have ended but when the past is now in the present its up to them to either pick up and continue or walk away and move on. Problem is the baggage they carry and the consequences of their past actions. But every move they make either leads them closer or tears them further apart.

This is a short, quick read that will leave you feeling good and rooting for the good guy. But you decide who you root for. You will love the characters and hope and pray they make the right decisions. This is a fun, romantic story with great characters.

My Review

Oh the tangled webs we weave…but once the webs are clear so are the feelings and thoughts of one another.

Kelsey knew Wyatt twelve years ago. After they shared an amazing moment together, life fell apart. Both of their lives. Living under her father’s thumb wasn’t easy. Trying to be a kid, be normal, wasn’t easy. Living with the memory of what happened that night to Griffin eats at her every day. So Kelsey doesn’t know how to live. She only knows what her father told her she deserved. Well, that’s no life at all.

Then she goes to an audition and her life changes. But living in a box all her life makes it hard for her to see her dreams become reality. She can’t let herself try to climb out, it would be wrong even though she dreams of that all the time. In private she lets herself go, freely, imagining her dreams, her pretend future that she won’t let herself have. But the audition starts the process of breaking her walls. One by one. And as each wall falls down, courage comes and the excitement of her new life appeals to her. But the last wall is the hardest. Can she? Can she really go for her dreams and make them real? Does she do it alone? She has Griffin at her side but is he enough? Kelsey is strong but if only she saw that, maybe she jump at the chance to make her dreams come true. All of them.

Julie Kenner has another wonderful story filled with romance and intrigue, excitement and love. The characters connect and yet pull at each other. They invoke a heart tug as they struggle to find each other. And yet their passion is so hot and spicy it comes through the book. I love the connection to the Damien and Nikki Stark. Always fun to have a story with other characters you know.

Excerpt

She was driving him crazy.

The way she held his eyes while she moved, so bold and flirtatious, as if she was just daring him to pull her into his arms and kiss her senseless.

Daring him? No, strike that. She wasn’t just daring him, she was throwing down a goddamned gauntlet. But was she challenging him to claim her? Or was she goading him that he couldn’t have her?

Damned if he knew. Right then, Wyatt was certain of only one thing—his body was tight, his cock was hard, and he wanted to be somewhere other than here. Someplace without other people.

Someplace with a bed.

It was the dancing that did it. Because Kelsey Draper and her dancing had always been his downfall. After all, that was what had started everything all those years ago. He’d seen her dancing to a bouncy pop song, her interpretation elevating the music and lyrics. He’d seen passion and precision, sensuality and seduction. She’d enchanted him. Cast a spell over him.

He’d seen the magic in her, so much larger than the quiet, subdued girl he’d met before. The Kelsey he’d watched dancing had surprised him. She was vibrant. Alive. Unexpected.

He’d fallen hard, and then she’d broken his heart.

He wouldn’t make the same mistake again.

He might want her—hell, he did want her. For his bed. For his show.

But he damn sure wasn’t going to trust her. He’d already learned that lesson, and he really didn’t need a refresher course.

As he watched, she dropped to the floor, then used one hand to rip open her shirt before letting it fall down her arms. She writhed on stage, her seductive movements making him ache inside, all the more when he imagined taking it further. Her wrists bound not with a tattered blouse, but with silk ropes. And not just her wrists, but her legs as well. Red ropes, the only color in an otherwise black and white image. Her body twisting, and the audience unsure if she was fighting the bonds or reveling in her own rising passion.

She was exactly what he needed for the show. The complete package. Hell, he’d known that from the moment she’d walked into his studio.

So why was he hesitating?

Because he wanted her?

Or was it because he wanted to punish her?

Or maybe it was even more insidious than that. Maybe it came down to how much was riding on this show. It was his shot, after all. The apex of all his work and sacrifice. The chance to escape from under the black cloud his father had left hanging over him.

WG teaser 1The chance to prove himself to his family.

To live up to the goddamn Segel name.

But that would only happen if the show was a success.

So maybe that was why he was hesitating. Because the moment he committed was the moment the truth crept toward him on little cat paws, and it would either curl up and purr, or rip his heart out.

On stage, Kelsey rose, then did some sort of pirouette, twirling as she pulled off one of those transparent, colored scarves that served as a barely-there skirt. Wyatt imagined his hands on her waist, the brush of her skin against his palms as she spun. He could imagine her heat. The way she shivered under his touch.

So help him, he wanted that. Wanted to hear her sighs. Those little moans he remembered.

Another scarf went flying, and he straightened so that he was no longer leaning against the pillar. Instead, he shifted his weight from foot to foot as he tried to tamp down the rising lust. The violent need. To not only have her, but to have her in his show.

He wanted her, yes. But she was an indulgence he couldn’t justify. An indulgence and a risk, because he knew damn well that she’d run if things got too intense.

And damn but his show was intense. That was the point, after all.

He couldn’t take a chance on her, no matter how much he might want to. Couldn’t even bring her in only long enough to test her out. Not on such a tight schedule. Not when there was no way to ensure that she wouldn’t bolt.

Kelsey was a risk he simply couldn’t take. He had to get it right. There was too much at stake for him to be wrong about her.

#WG6.5GFil,m

The final scarf fluttered to the ground, and Wyatt’s pulse pounded in his throat as he moved closer, his mouth going dry as she reached for her bra, pulled it over her head, then tossed it aside.

The music faded out, and the dim, colored stage lights made the flesh-colored G-string blend into her pale skin, enhancing the illusion that she now stood before the entire room not just topless, but one hundred percent, birthday-suit naked.

She took a bow as the lights came up, and the men in the audience actually stood to applaud her. She’d blown away the competition, and even though Wyatt wanted to rush the stage and wrap his jacket around her, he couldn’t deny the swell of pride he felt for her victory.

My Review

Julie Kenner continues the story of Damien and Nikki’s life giving us another peek into their beautiful world. This novella shares a sweet side of Nikki after quickly becoming a mother. If you are or have been a mother you can empathize with Nikki and the struggles she goes through trying to get her life back on track. It’s hard to juggle work, motherhood, being a wife and trying to find herself. But lucky for her, she has Damien’s support to get her through this period.

Julie Kenner has paid close attention to the details of motherhood, really getting all the specifics correct. You will feel like you’re right there watching Nikki in the house with the kids. Her writing makes it all so real. So believable. She is very thorough when it comes to her characters. As Nikki struggles with her decision, you can almost feel the pull Nikki must be going through, as if it were your own struggle.

The best part of this story is the love between Nikki and Damien. Julie writes the most beautiful scenes between these two characters. The way they read each other, know exactly what they need, when they need it and how to satisfy the needs, it is truly amazing writing. Beautiful, sweet love.

This is another well done look into Nikki and Damien Stark’s life. It’s nice checking in on their life and seeing their family grow.

Excerpt:

I already know that Damien is running later than I am, because he’d called while I was stuck in traffic. Now I dismiss Bree for the night, then go peek in on both my girls. I want to wake them, to cuddle them close, but I let them sleep, contenting myself with watching the steady rise and fall of their little chests.

Then I take a quick shower, change into yoga pants and a T-shirt, and stretch out on our lovely iron bed, surrounded by paperwork.

That’s where I am when Damien finds me—although I’m asleep instead of busily working.

“Hey,” he says, brushing a kiss on my shoulder. “Long day?”

As I claw my way back to consciousness, he gathers my papers and sets them on the bedside table. There’s a glass of wine, too, and he hands it to me. I try to avoid alcohol since I’m breastfeeding, but I also did the research and know that a little bit isn’t a problem so long as I wait to pump or feed Anne.

“The longest,” I say, then take a grateful sip. I lean sideways against him, my back supported by the pile of pillows that rest against the wall. I give him the full rundown, the highlight of which is Eric’s surprising departure.

“You can handle continued growth,” he says, his loyalty giving me a nice warm boost of confidence. “But you’re also well-positioned to simply hold the line if that’s what you want to do. Even to downsize if it works out that way.”

I push away from him, frowning as my chest tightens uncomfortably. “What?”

“I’m just saying that you don’t have to go back to work full-throttle.”

I sit up straight. “Excuse me? Why? Because you can support us?”

“I can support us. But what I’m—”

“So I’m supposed to feel guilty about wanting to work just because you bring in billions?” Dammit, he knows how important my job is to me. How hard I’ve worked to build my business on my own, not relying on money that comes from Stark International.

He stares at me like someone might stare at a wild hyena. “That’s not what I’m saying at all.”

 My Review

I thought I was amazed by Celia Aaron’s Acquisition series starting with Counsellor, but this stand alone is written just as well if not better and once again, I am speechless after reading this incredibly creative, deep and dark story

Sebastian Lindstrom is a dark and complicated man. He’s a psycho. He is complicated yet simple. He has one desire. Camille Briarlane. A teacher at a private high school. He saw her one night and decided she was made for him. She was his. Literally.

– “The fair maiden wanted the monster more than she needed the knight.”

This story has so many amazing quotable lines in it.

After one meeting, Sebastian decided he had to have Camille. Only one problem, Camille has a boyfriend named Link. The white knight, although after meeting him I’m not sure I’d call him that. But he was there for Camille when she needed him most. He swooped in to comfort her and at that time, that’s what she needed. But not anymore. She needs someone to reach her dark inner animalistic side.

After a dance with Sebastian, Camille feels things inside her she has never felt, especially with Link. A simple touch ignites a “chain reaction” in her. Yet she denies these weird feelings because of her boyfriend Link. But oh, how good they feel. Nerve endings rise in places she never knew could making her desire more.

The problem the characters face is Sebastian. His character. He’s not normal, he’s different. He doesn’t think like other people. He doesn’t have emotions. He is almost robotic in his thinking and talking at times. He thinks he wants something so he can have it, no feelings to worry about. He wants he gets. But you can’t do that with people. He doesn’t understand that. It might work in his job, but not with people.

– “The more she tried to fly away, the harder I wanted to clip her wings. She was the most precious thing I’d ever found.”

Sebastian’s father, Bill, has tried for years to teach Sebastian to be somewhat normal. He has kept him safe from harm but he can’t fix Sebastian when he goes to the dark side, off the deep end, or too far as he does in this story. So his dad tries to help him see the light but he can’t without Camille’s help. Getting her to help with the monster is a chore.

Sebastian doesn’t know emotions so he can’t feel love until he meets Camille. He would give her anything she wants, even exotic things that only she would love and appreciate. All he wants is her trust and her love. He goes about it in the worst possible manner but with Camille’s patience and Bill’s guidance the monster becomes a dark knight.

– “You’re light, but you crave the dark. You crave me.”

The hardest thing for Sebastian, the one thing that will break him, is to set her free. Probably the hardest lesson he will learn. It just might break him completely.

– “You can trap her and hold her all you want, but you’ll never have her until you set her free.”

As the story progresses, Camille changes and learns she wants something different. She realizes what she wants sexually and what or who makes her body come alive.

– “God, I was starved for his touch, I wanted more of it, just like an addict wanted the next hit of their eventual death.”

She likes the darkness, his darkness, and the feelings she experiences when she travels to hell with him. She comes alive too, just like the monster does. Feelings are stirred inside her that no man has ever brought to life.

– “You had a white knight, but you were waiting for your monster. Here I am.

The more time Camille spends with Sebastian, the more she understands him and helps him find a heart. He becomes a hero. But she never loses sight of herself. And I will be honest, I came to love him more towards the end too. I went from wanting to gouge his eyes out to wanting to hug him. It took a strong woman who respected herself and did what she had to do to protect herself, to help break the vault that locked up Sebastian’s heart. Or maybe she taught him love.

– “You aren’t the bad guy after all. Psycho? Yes. But you’re the hero of my story.”

And in the end, they both helped each other learn what love really is.

– “But I knew it, just as sure as I knew he’d never stop his pursuit – I loved Sebastian. It was wrong and sick, and yet, so right.

I’ve tried very hard not to give anything away in this story. It is dark, it is intense, but it is one that you will not put down because in the darkness, there is a very HOT romantic story to be told and told SO well. Sebastian will weave his way into your heart, slowly, take hold and not let go. Camille will be in your thoughts worrying and wondering what happens to her, you will cheer her along, become the voice in her head.

This story flows so well, alternating points of view giving you insight into Sebastian, Camille and even Link’s mind. I love Celia Aaron’s story. Once again I am amazed at her unique and dark story. A story unlike any I’ve read.

If you haven’t yet met Sinclair in Counsellor, then prepare to be amazed once again. That’s another story that will leave you wanting more. I love how Celia Aaron can write such different character types. I enjoyed Sebastian’s character even though it was dark and crazy. She wrote him to be hated and loved at the same time. His robotic thinking, trying to understand Camille, learning from her, it was all written so well. Incredible characters AND brilliant story. I want more!

#Review #BookRelease @CindiMadsen @InkslingerPR @EntangledPub #Romance Confessions of a Former Puck Bunny

Today we have the stop for Cindi Madsen’s Confessions of a Former Puck Bunny. Check out this fantastic new romance and grab your copy today!

About Confessions of a Former Puck Bunny:

Confession #1: I used to be a puck bunny, but after a hockey player broke my heart, I gave up all things hockey. Now I’m just focused on finding a way to pass my math class so I can graduate college.

Confession #2: Ryder “Ox” Maddox’s deep, sexy voice sends fuzzy tingles through my entire body, and I’m powerless to stop it. Which is a big problem since the hot, surprisingly funny hockey player is my new math tutor.

Confession #3: I can’t stop thinking about how ripped Ryder is from all his hockey training, and how fun it’d be to cross lines with him.

Confession #4: I kissed a hockey player and I liked it.

Confession #5: If I’m not careful, I might relapse and fall for Ryder, and then I’ll be totally pucked.

My Review:

If you love hockey and hockey players then this is a must read. Now I’ve never heard of a “puck bunny” but understand it very well now. What a fitting name for what they are. This book is exactly what the title says, confessions from a FORMER puck bunny.

Lindsey has learned her lesson, hence her confessions. She was once a “puck bunny” and did the whole circuit of following players around, partying with them and so forth. But she has learned the hard way that that’s not what she wants. It is all she knows, thanks to her mom, but she wants better and good for her. So that “better” is her struggle to try to survive college, graduate, get a job that she wants and be happy and almost in that order too. She has built such tall and thick walls that being happy doesn’t matter, surviving and graduating does. But there is a little problem standing in her way. Her math class. This class can keep her from graduating if she doesn’t get it under control and that’s where we meet Ryder.

Ryder is a freshmen hockey player that happens to be VERY good in math (I don’t like those kind of people either Lindsey). So you can see where this is going and how they might meet. But what you don’t know is the struggle Ryder faces in just trying to get to know Lindsey because of her walls. She is only protecting herself. You learn why, and understand and empathize with her but you also take Ryder’s side because you think he is a good guy. He basically is, but every good story has some bumps and twists and turns. Ryder has been groomed by his father, a former NHL star, to get to the NHL draft someday, all else be damned. And I mean ALL ELSE. So social life is non-existent. No college age male or female can handle that? You can only hope that this couple comes out on top when they are done going through the blender. Add school, graduation, failing math class, hockey team, finals, playoff and some meddling parents and it’s a whirlwind. It’s worth the read to see how it all comes out. Just hang on for the long ride ahead.

Wow! What a book! Grab your copy of this sexy romance today! You won’t be disappointed!

About The Handy Men:

Jack and Dean love each other, but they’re missing the woman to complete their triangle. When newly divorced Paige Richards buys a Bed and Breakfast on Hamlet Island and employs them to help her fix the inn up, Jack and Dean are sure they’ve found the one they’ve been looking for. Despite the playful, sexy clues they drop, luscious Paige is reticent about getting involved, even when they set the stage so she can stumble on them in action. They can tell by her responses she wants to join them, but rumors travel fast on the small island, and tales of a threesome could get back to the conservative, family vacation crowd who won’t patronize those with an alternative lifestyle. And the last thing they want for Paige is the B&B’s rooms…and her bank account…to remain empty. But Jack and Dean will stop at nothing to prove to Paige that she can have it all…with them.

My Review:

Paige, Jack and Dean were hot, so hot I needed more than water to cool myself down. What a great story. Wow! Could Jack and Dean be any hotter? Their chemistry is off the charts before you add Paige into the picture. Prepare yourself before you read this. These two obviously love each other and are so into one another they can’t stand being apart. Then add their desire for Paige into the mix and the heat is turned up quite a bit.

Paige is trying to start over from a divorce. Her ex is a cheater and destroyed her life yet she’s ready to move on despite her ex and her parents. Oh her parents…where do you start with them? So much for blood is thicker than water. But Paige is strong and determined to do this on her own and be successful. Glad she is determined. Thanks to the help of the two handy men in her life, Jack and Dean, Paige is able to open her inn on time.

Little does Paige know, Jack and Dean have the hots for her. Little do they know Jack and Dean are the stars of Paige’s bedtime stories. But when she gets to meet them and have her dreams come true she is in for a treat and so are they.

The story is great, the lovers are hot and their time together is incredible. This book will make you squirm and tingle all over. Pick it up and read it but do it in private so you can enjoy it all.

ARRANGED - Tour banner

Arranged: A Masters and Mercenaries Novella

By Lexi Blake

Coming April 25, 2017

arrangedKash Kamdar is the king of a peaceful but powerful island nation. As Loa Mali’s sovereign, he is always in control, the final authority. Until his mother uses an ancient law to force her son into marriage. His prospective queen is a buttoned-up intellectual, nothing like Kash’s usual party girl. Still, from the moment of their forced engagement, he can’t stop thinking about her.

Dayita Samar comes from one of Loa Mali’s most respected families. The Oxford-educated scientist has dedicated her life to her country’s future. But under her staid and calm exterior, Day hides a few sexy secrets of her own. She is willing to marry her king, but also agrees that they can circumvent the law. Just because they’re married doesn’t mean they have to change their lives. It certainly doesn’t mean they have to fall in love.

After one wild weekend in Dallas, Kash discovers his bride-to-be is more than she seems. Engulfed in a changing world, Kash finds exciting new possibilities for himself. Could Day help him find respite from the crushing responsibility he’s carried all his life? This fairy tale could have a happy ending, if only they can escape Kash’s past…

Excerpt:

“Did you enjoy the dessert? They had been planning on serving crème brûlée, but I remembered you like gelato. Strawberry.”

She turned and Kash was standing in the doorway, the tie to his tuxedo undone and the first few buttons of his shirt open, showing off golden skin.

Oh, how the girls must swoon over that man.

Unfortunately for him, she was a woman and not a girl. She curtseyed, recalling her etiquette classes and going down deep, to show her respect for the crown. “I thank you, Your Majesty.”

“Come now, Day. I asked you not to call me that long ago, and now it appears there’s even less reason. We were friends then. We’re going to be husband and wife in a week. Shocking how quickly that woman can move when she wants to.”

He looked so composed, but she couldn’t forget that he’d only found out his mother was dying this afternoon. That was when she’d seen the real man. She’d interrupted them with her silly dress and she’d seen the shock and pain on Kash’s face before he’d smoothed it out and gone back to being the polite royal he’d become.

“Are you all right?” She asked the question for two reasons. First, she wanted to know the answer and second, to see if they really were still friends.

His lips curved up slightly. “I’m faring quite well. We Kamdars are made of sterner stuff than this. Did you enjoy the dinner?”

So, not so friendly he would talk about private things with her. It was good to know where they stood. They needed to have a long conversation about how this was going to work. They might be marrying to protect the Kamdar line and to give his mother some peace, but they needed a plan of action about how best to achieve their goals.

Partners. That was how she’d decided to look at this. They were partners. And if she ended up governing the kingdom while he was out fucking around with supermodels, she wouldn’t get her heart broken.

Just humiliated.

Yes, they needed a talk and perhaps a contract.

“I enjoyed the meal very much. The company left something to be desired, but I suspect I’ll get used to dining with windbag politicians.” She turned back to the balcony, leaning against it. The view from here was spectacular. Beyond that, it was soothing in a way.

“Yes, Mother told me they’re giving you trouble.” He joined her, leaning beside her, their bodies so close but not touching. “I’ll talk to them, ensure you have your funding.”

“Don’t. It can wait a few weeks. I need to go back to them and introduce myself as their new queen.” She wasn’t about to let them think she sent her husband in. If he behaved as he so often did, he wouldn’t be around much and it would be up to her to keep everyone in line.

“Is that why you agreed to this arrangement? Because you wanted power?”

“I agreed because I care about this country. I’ve spent the last ten years of my life working here and trying to ensure that our children get what they need to make it out in the world. I agreed because your mother is excellent at putting one in a corner. I agreed because someone has to and I wasn’t sure who you would bring home if given the chance.” She shuddered at the idea of some brainless model attempting to be a role model for Loa Malian girls.

“Ah, you don’t think I have good taste in women.”

“I think you have an unquenchable appetite for them, Your Majesty, and that is something we should talk about.”

“Ah, the wifely lectures begin,” he said with a sigh. “Please proceed. I’m anxious to get this over with so I can be properly chastened.”

“I only ask that you attempt some discretion, Kashmir. I don’t expect you to be faithful in any way, but I do expect you to not humiliate me.”

He turned, frowning a bit as though she’d surprised him. “You don’t expect me to be faithful?”

It was time for some honesty. “I don’t think you can be. How long have you kept a single woman? A month? Three?”

“Six,” he replied. “I was with Tasha Reynolds for six months before we went our separate ways.”

“And were you faithful to her?” She already knew the answer to that question.

“We had an agreement.” He frowned as though the conversation wasn’t going at all as he’d expected. “She was on set much of the time. She knew I had a highly stressful job, so she was understanding. I gave her the same options.”

“Excellent, then let’s be fair with each other. As long as we’re both discreet, this marriage of ours doesn’t have to mean the end of our lives.”

My Review:

pink5

Wow! Who was sexier? Kash or Day? It’s a toss up for me, as they were both sexy as heck.

This was a different kind of story line for me, kings and queens, royalty mixed with submission and BDSM. I enjoyed the struggle for Kash of how to fit in. He had to figure out how to be a man, by his own standards, not societies or his father’s perceived ideas. He had to be a ruler or authority figure, lover, son, friend, and all in the eyes of the public. The pressure he must have felt had to be enormous. The way his mom explained everything to him towards the end was touching and made sense of so many things in the story. There were a few times when I couldn’t keep up with all the people involved, especially when they were in Dallas, the names had me confused as to who went with who and who guarded who but I got through it. Just focused on the characters I knew.

I enjoyed Day’s strong character, strong in a good way. Facing the antiquated male dominating world she fought hard to stand her ground to lay the path for the future to give females a chance in her country. She didn’t back down either. She was perfectly comfortable with herself and carried herself that way. Kash had to accept that and understand who she was in order to make the marriage work. He had to figure out how he fit into her world and was he happy with that? Yet she was willing to walk away and do what was best for his family if he couldn’t accept her for who she was. She was the real deal. I loved her character. Made me want to smack Kash around even more. But the more he came to understand Day and her needs, the more honest he became with himself. That transformation was good to see.

I loved that this wasn’t a male dominated story; a rich male wants poor girl and will do anything to get her. I loved the funky traditions of the island, the values of the family and the desire to respect the family. The conflicts with the servants was real and believable with such strong devotion to their Majesty or royal family member it was understandable. Some interactions took me by surprise and I never saw them coming. I love surprises in a book! Wonderful story!

Provocative (White Lies Book One) by Lisa Renee Jones
Release Date: April 18th
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Provocative Final Border 4.07.17 PM

Book one in the sexy and intense new White Lies duet by Lisa Renee Jones!

There are those moments in life that are provocative in their very existences, that embed in our minds forever, and sometimes our very souls. They change us, mold us, maybe even save save us. But some are darker, dangerous. If we allow them to, they control us. Seduce us. Quite possibly even destroy us.

The moment I walked into Sonoma’s Reid Winter Winery and Vineyard and made eye contact with Faith Winter for the first time was one of those moments. Provocative because I know at least one of her secrets, of which, I suspect she has many. Provocative because she believes I was a stranger to her when we met, but I am not. Provocative because I sought her out, with no intention of touching her. But now I have. Now I want her. Now I have to have her. But that changes nothing. It doesn’t change why I came for her.

My Review of Provocative

I just finished this book and wow… I’m not sure who the villain is and who the hero is? I’m not sure if Nick and Faith are the good guys or the bad guys or a combination of both. What an incredible story line, one that I wish I could get to the bottom of and NOW! How far away is July?

I chose to read and review this book because the description intrigued me, having never read this author before I was hesitant. But now, I am wondering why (and kicking myself) I never read her work before this. She masterfully intertwined these characters together yet each has their own secrets that I am sure will be the end of their “us” as they call it. Their story is involved, their lives are full of lies and secrets BEFORE they meet. Yet after their meeting and involvement grows, the lies continue. And all it takes is one line, one word and your mind goes wondering what else is hidden behind the green curtain. I can’t even begin to imagine the ending to this story but I desperately want to find out. I am THAT intrigued by it.

Nick is a hard, relentless corporate attorney, nicknamed “Tiger” for all the reasons you think. He is well known for winning in the court room and he claims he exposes liars because he hates liars, (hello pot, this is the kettle calling) and gets to the truth. Well he needs to look in the mirror if that’s his claim. Although the story is so well written, you wonder WHO is telling lies or who is keeping secrets.  You certainly learn to trust no one. What are the lies that Nick refers to? Nick keeps referring to lies and misconceptions but you wonder about this wedge he is creating between them. It will come to a head soon and be an ugly mess. Hopefully he can clean it up, but how will he and Faith come out in the end? If he thinks he cares for her then is this the beginning of the end?

Then there is Faith. I think she has more mystery surrounding her than Nick does. Brilliant character, strong at times, determined and eager, yet lacking in self confidence and desire when it comes to her dreams. Trying to please her deceased father and find the truth behind her mother’s actions before she died, Faith is torn between the desire to be an artist and dutiful daughter role to run the family business. At some point truths will come to the surface and I have a feeling Faith will be more guilty than I expect. There is a grey cloud over her head and too many loose strings around her in her life. If Nick ties them all up, the bow is going to be an ugly one and not because he’s a guy. He has enough money to have that bow dipped in gold if he wants. What I can’t figure out is if he TRULY cares for her or it’s all an act. I hate cliff hangers! Faith and Nick are mysterious together and even worse, their own baggage will sink the “us” they are trying to figure out if they don’t start unpacking it soon.

I’m in love with Lisa Renee Jones. I will defiantly read more of her work. I am still reeling from the ending. I need my own PI to go find the manuscript to the next book in the series.

SBPR-DFRM-BLOGTOUR

Dirty Filthy Rich Men, an all-new sexy, contemporary romance from NYT Bestseller Laurelin Paige is available now!!!

dirtyfilthynewfontfinal

Dirty Filthy Rich Men by Laurelin Paige
Genre: Contemporary Romance

From NYT Bestselling author Laurelin Paige, discover a whole new world filled with sex, love, power, romance and dirty, filthy rich men.

When I met Donovan Kincaid, I knew he was rich. I didn’t know he was filthy. Truth be told, I was only trying to get his best friend to notice me.

I knew poor scholarship girls like me didn’t stand a chance against guys like Weston King and Donovan Kincaid, but I was in love with his world, their world, of parties and sex and power. I knew what I wanted—I knew who I wanted—until one night, their world tried to bite me back and Donovan saved me. He saved me, and then Weston finally noticed me, and I finally learned what it was to be in their world.

And then what it was like to lose it.

Ten years later, I’ve found my way back. Back to their world. Back to him.

This time, I’m ready. I’ve been down this road before, and I know all the dirty, filthy ways Donovan will try and wreck me.

But it’s hard to resist. Especially when I know how much I’ll like it.

Excerpt:

After she was gone, I walked over to the windows and drank in the scene. The Town Center was high enough that it had an unblocked view of downtown Manhattan, Brooklyn, and beyond.

Giddiness surged through me, starting like a pinprick at my center and moving out through my veins in all directions until even my fingers and toes felt warm.

I was really here.

I made it.

It wasn’t the way I thought it would be, but in the end, it still came out of my time at Harvard. I’d always known that connections made the difference in a career, and here I was. Finally. At the top of the world, looking out.

I couldn’t stop grinning.

“It’s incredible, isn’t it?” a male voice came from behind me.

Still smiling, I glanced up and caught his reflection in the window.

And everything disappeared.

The world that had buzzed below, the beautiful scene, the excitement that had unfurled through my body—all of it evaporated and all that existed in its place was a pale, hollow shell of myself and the man in the perfectly tailored suit behind me.

I turned to look at him directly. Our gazes smashed together, and my legs nearly fell out from under me.

“Donovan,” I rasped. It was a miracle that I managed to find enough voice to say that much.

And there was so much more that had to be said. So much more that I hadn’t prepared for. Which was ridiculous since I’d talked to him so many times in my head over the years, practiced so many conversations, but never did he show up out of the blue looking so dastardly handsome in a dark gray three-piece suit, his face rugged with scruff, his eyes hazel and earnest despite the playful smirk on his lips.

I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out. I wasn’t even sure how to breathe anymore.

He broke our gaze to nod out the window at the skyline, walking toward me as he said, “I’m sure you found the Empire.”

Though his focus was now on the scenery, I didn’t take my eyes off him as he approached. He didn’t stop until he was right beside me. So close our shoulders would touch if I coughed. Tension ran off him like foam spilling over from a mug of beer. Good tension. Bad tension. I wasn’t sure if there was a difference when it came to Donovan.

Which was why I was screwed if he was here.

Why the hell was he here?

“I thought you were in Tokyo.” I couldn’t stop staring at him. He’d gotten more refined with age, and rougher at the same time. His hair was short and his curls gone, giving him a polished look he lacked before. The lines by his eyes were more defined and his expression seemed harder than I’d remembered. It made him sexier.

As if he was a man who needed to be sexier than the one I knew.

“I came back two months ago,” he said offhandedly. “That’s it right there.” He leaned his face in close to mine as he pointed to the famous structure. “Do you see it?”

Fuck if I cared about the Empire. I was in Donovan Kincaid’s orbit. What else was there in the world?

my-review

Where do I begin?

Wow! Catching my breath and trying to figure out my mixed emotions on this one. Powerful. Different. Deeply emotional and yet there is a strong pull of desire. But first, let me smack the crap out of Donovan before we start this. Aggravating, annoying, pain in the tookus and a few other words I can’t mention hear. Shake him, smack him, give him a taste of his own medicine.

So this story is unique. Yes, it is a romance but not your typical romance, which I like. I get tired of the same story line. This has two guys, Donovan and Weston, very rich names by the way, and their tangled webs they weave are incredible. Sabrina met them in college, all this is in the first part of the book, and despite circumstances that happened, they lost touch and ten years later they happen to meet again. And then things happen. Weird things, wonderful things, things you shouldn’t trust happen. If Sabrina had a daisy and pulled the petals off for every time she swayed back and forth between he loves me, doesn’t love me, there would be no more flowers left. The games played in here are so deeply entwined you never know how deep, how far or what will happen next.

Donovan and Sabrina have an interesting relationship built out of need. Donovan is one unique character. Well developed and well written into a mysteriously strong character that you love, hate and sympathize with all at once. He pulls at your emotions. But you can’t figure him out and that’s what is most annoying. Laurelin wrote his character too well. She’s a mastermind and really created a truly amazing Donovan.

So now I have to wait until September…I truly hate cliffhangers but I can imagine all the endings I’d give the characters until then. Oh the possibilities that exist.

Well done. Another five star read for me
